“Unsung Heroes Working to End TB – Episode 2”: The Stop TB Partnership announces call for the 2016 Kochon Prize nominations

19 February 2016 – Geneva, Switzerland – Every day, all over the world, countless people quietly make miracles happen for people suffering from TB. They are community workers, health workers, volunteers, and all types of service providers.  Their efforts have a huge impact in the lives of those affected by this terrible disease, but their enormous contributions and the differences they make are rarely known or recognized.

Due to the above-mentioned reasons and the large number of nominations and interest we had in 2015, the Stop TB Partnership is pleased to announce that theme for the 2016 Kochon Prize, for the second year, will be “Unsung Heroes Working to End TB: Episode 2.” Our partners chose this theme to highlight the critical impact and role these people have, who under unimaginable challenges, are changing and saving the lives of those affected by TB.

Funded by the Kochon Foundation, a non-profit foundation based in the Republic of Korea, the USD 65,000 prize is awarded once a year to an individual and/or organization that has made a significant contribution in the fight against TB.

Individuals and/or organizations must be nominated by someone other than themselves.

 Nominations should include:

-a nomination form and

-a letter of support from the nominator.

Please note that for the first time, an online nomination form will also be made available.

Completed nominations should be sent to the Stop TB Partnership no later than 15 April 2016.
